Joshua S. Benjestorf received his B.S. in electrical engineering and applied mathematics (double major) with a physics minor from University of the Pacific and M.S. degree in electrical engineering from The Pennsylvania State University where he is now currently pursuing his Ph.D. in electrical engineering. He has also worked in the connector industry since 2011. With over 13 years of industry experience Josh has previously worked for Intel Corporation, Japanese Solderless Terminal (JST), and TE Connectivity. In 2012 he filed his first patent on a new connector concept called Non-Metallic Connector (NMC) and continues to refine the concepts through academic and industry research.

In 2014 he was an invited guest speaker at the IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics (ICCE) to give an in-depth tutorial on the NMC concept. His speaking engagements on the NMC concept extends to both universities and other engineering and professional conferences. He has published papers in peer-reviewed conferences and journals and holds several patents. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE and actively serves on the IEEE executive committee, Region 2, Susquehanna section. His research interests include connectors, contactless connectivity, wireless power transfer, metamaterials, electromagnetics, signal & power integrity, and mathematics.
